Steve, or as everyone calls him, "Gundy"  has been with the Baltic School District for 40 years in various roles such as teaching Social Studies, History, Psychology, Current Events, Physical Education, Health, Government, and Sociology.  Throughout his career he was honored as  "Teacher of the Year" on 2 different occasions.  Gundy has also coached Football, Basketball and Track with many successful years working with some very talented and dedicated athletes.  While coaching Boys' Basketball, Gundy's team went to the State in 1990 receiving 7th place and in 1993 with 2nd place.  The Football Team in 1982 went to the South Dakota Football Playoffs.  He was also honored as "Region Activities Director of the Year" 2 times, voted on by his peers.  Gundy has retired from the teaching profession, but he remains in our school district as the Activities Director.  His favorite quote is from Jimmy Valvano, "Don't give up.  Don't every give up."


Any Baltic Middle School or High School interested in participating in athletic activities during the school year must submit a completed physical form to the school.  Students will NOT be allowed to practice or compete until a physical form is on file.  If you have any questions, please contact us.


Ready for the 2015 Football Season?  How about the Volleyball Season?  We Are and the practicing will begin soon.  Don't forget to have your physicals turned in before the first day of practice! 

The Weight Room is open through the summer and both Football and Volleyball have several Clinics and Camps available.  Keep working through the summer months so we are ready for the fall.

The Baltic High School recognizes and honors outstanding individuals for their exceptional achievements at, or contributions to, Baltic High School and/or for demonstrating how their accomplishments within society positively reflect upon the educational quality and stature of Baltic High School.

The Hall of Fame Class of 2009 was the inaugural Hall of Fame Class.  Nomination petitions may be submitted by citizens of the Baltic School District, current or former Baltic School District staff members, Baltic High School graduates no longer living in the Baltic School District, or by immediate family members defined as parent, child, spouse, or sibling.  Nominators may remain anonymous as long as the chairman is able to verify that the nominator meets the criteria listed above.   Hall of Fame Roster
